Meet Pearl Mini-IVF’s Laboratory Supervisor, Ankita Upadhye, MSc, TS (ABB). Together with Dr. Davis, Ankita has created a highly sophisticated embryology laboratory focused on meticulous safety practices, detailed communication, and constant scientific innovation.
Ankita completed her Clinical Embryology training at Oxford University and was the youngest student to be named a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Scholar. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Science at St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad where she was a double major in Biochemistry and Biotechnology.
While completing her training at Oxford, Ankita was recruited to work for the Cleveland Clinic Women’s Health Institute as an embryologist and researcher. During her time in Cleveland, she contributed to significant clinical and technological advances in the field of fertility medicine and performed the embryo transfer for the first successful cadaveric uterine transplant along with Dr. Davis and others. Ankita’s research interests are focused on ovarian tissue and in vitro maturation of oocytes which she believes could change how we approach infertility. Ankita is also a highly skilled technician and scientist with a deep passion for fertility medicine.
When not in the lab, Ankita loves exploring San Diego with her husband and her dog, Mac. She is fluent in 4 languages and is an avid traveler and podcast listener.
Ankita constantly strives to utilize her expertise to best serve her patients. She along with Dr. Davis and the Pearl team, want to provide a kinder and more transparent approach to infertility here at Pearl Mini-IVF.
